Happy Earth Day
This morning, I opened up my Firefox browser and noticed Google had created a frosty looking logo...that was kinda submerged in water. Made me think of an iceberg in the Northpole... which made me wonder why Google was using "an iceberg effect" on its logo? Later I found reddit.com had one too...with a penguin too. See below....
Out of curiosity, I did a bit of nosing around and realized that April 22nd was Earth Day! Hmm...why the frosty images though? Global warming? I would have expected trees and greenery. Here's some random trivia, Earth Day was originally held on March 21st, which means the April date is probably some commercial one that was cooked up for gimmicky purposes. Read more about it here
Oh well, the Chinese have 2 birthdays. I guess it's only fair that Mother Earth gets to celebrate her's twice too. :)
