Step 3: Travel light for the summer?
Packing for the summer never fails to drive me nuts. In my mad rush to catch my flight 3 days ago, i threw out half my life in 6 garbage bags! My jackets, books, toys...everything! In a few short hours, I managed to stuff the essentials into a box suitcase and 2 soft duffle bags. My possessions include some books, a teddy bear, and clothes for the summer and my trusty old laptop!I arrive in London on April 29th at 6.35am and take 1.5 hours to clear the passport control. Ahh! Noticed there are a lot of people from Africa who have business in UK....I never quite noticed that when I visited my sisters in the past. (Im using London as a travel base this summer).
Anyway, I attempt to drag my luggage to my sister's place in the city. It's a painful journey...who knew my shit was so heavy!? It takes me an extra hour just to take the tube to her place. She lives in the Docklands near Canary Wharf. It's a pretty nice place that overlooks the Greenwich dome, and lies beneath the green laser that marks the 0 degree point of the Greenwich Meridien Time. Within the 3 days that I have been here, I have had alcohol twice with her. It's wierd coming from the states since we are so uppity about alocohol consumption there. I half expected the waiter to card me but they didn't even bat an eyelid when I ordered my strawberry daiquri.
I haven't had time to think about work because I am having so much fun! Today, I had to open my laptop because I have a quarterly report due. Can't quite find the motivation to get it done....
Tomorrow I will be flying for my China trip. Actually, we will be entering through HongKong and I am kinda excited because Thomson (one of my fav AIESECers) will be there to take us out! hehehe! I repacked my stuff into a backpack earlier this evening, and try to leave space for the shopping I will do in China! Heh! I can't wait! :)
