Going to India Step 1. Send your passport home
Sma gave me the Kama Sutra today! Haha! I'm not quite sure what I should do with it, though it's exciting to look at it because it reminds me that i am going to india in another 40 days!I just got my confirmation letter yesterday and another cool surprise was that I was awarded thr OS internship award! This definitely helps to reduce costs over the summer, and pay for the expensive air tickets to London and India. Wee!!
So I finally sat down after the crazy AIESECness to figure out my summer logistics and realized to my horror that I had 10 days to apply for a visa to China and India. Being the true AIESECer that I am, I start churning out options for my trip.
Should I express mail my forms into Chicago to apply for the visas?
Should I apply while in China for the Chinese one and the Indian one?
Or should I just do it in London when I visit my sisters in another 10 days?
All options are out when i realize I have to surrender my passport for more than 10 days to get the visas processed. And so I hit on the grandest (or most stupid) idea of them all....send my passport back to SINGAPORE! Muahaha!
I promptly pay Fed-ex a good amount of my personal wealth and scram to get all my documents in order for the visa application. As we speak, my passport should be strapping its seat belt in preparation for the flight to Singapore!
The cool thing though is that I haven't told mummy dearest that she needs to help me send the passport to the Indian Consulate in Singapore. Oops! I can imagine her screaming over the phone already. "Why didn't you plan way ahead for this!?" Because it's AIESEC and things happen at the snap of a finger, you can't really plan for things when you are in a crazy organization like this! I'm loving every moment of it! :)
